Wearing mens fur coat is a statement of your style and attitude. It is
mainly worn by the rich, famous and the powerful. If you want that type of look, wearing one will make most
people impressed with your stature. Fur coats are not for everyone, they require special care, can be very
expensive and are hard to find.
It takes a lot of effort and workmanship to produce a quality fur coat. The animal has first
needs to be hunted down, skinned his fur and then it the fur is treated with special chemicals. The more
detail and work involved, the more it will cost for the buyer. Fur coats used to be a popular item among many
people during the start of the 20th century but ever since the reduction of animals in the wild,
it is now worn by only a few.
If you want to know how to know if the men’s fur coat is of high quality here are a few tips
you should know:
1. Put your hands along the fur coat and it should feel smooth and silky. If you feel it’s too
coarse or the hair doesn’t feel consistent then it is not a good fur coat.
2. Usually the lower quality fur coats are made in China while the more expensive ones are
made in America or Europe. The Chinese coats usually have a combination of fake fur parts and therefore not
really authentic fur.
3. As a rule of thumb, if the coat consist of more leather, than the fur would not be as of
high quality because the leather makes up for the lack of good fur. However, this can be wrong in some cases
because the leather quality is very good.
4. Check the coat is it has a specific pelt label. Coats that have an American Legend mink
cooperative, Saga Furs of Scandinavia and NAFA are groups of people that are dedicated in producing only high
quality products.
5. Test the inner side of the coat to see if the lining is well put together. See if the fur
is not stick in thin strips together but should in thick batches together.
6. When storing the coat, do not store the fur in direct sunlight and instead wrap it in a
plastic bag and inside a cupboard. The sunlight can cause the fur to decompose and weakened the fur
linings.
